About Us

WHO WE ARE

Community Home Builders and Associates (CHBA) was founded in 1990, in San Ramon, California as Building Industry Association of Northern California Earthquake Relief Fund. CHBA’s mission is to provide affordable housing to low income individuals, families and senior households.

CHBA has an ownership interest in Thirteen affordable housing communities, comprising over 1,516 units that provide low income housing for families and seniors. The communities have been financed with low income housing tax credits. We work with an extensive network of partners throughout California, including local governments, for-profit developers, local and national lenders, syndicators, and corporate investors, to help us produce, preserve, and protect vibrant communities for those most in need.
